We’re going on a bear hunt…

We’re going on a bear hunt…

This week, a member of our Learning Enrichment team overheard someone saying “You can’t go over it, you can’t go under it – you’re just going to have to go through it.” And while that is very true, it is also, at times, very hard.

What makes those moments easier is not that the challenge disappears, but that we…

don’t face it alone. When we walk through things together, they become just that little bit more manageable.

In the story ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’, the family faced all sorts of obstacles – long grass, deep rivers, thick mud. They couldn’t go around them; they had to go through them. But they did it together. There was courage in their togetherness, and strength in knowing they weren’t facing it alone.

As we come towards the final weeks of the first school term for 2026, there has been a lot – change, challenge, moments that have stretched us, and also moments of real success and celebration. In all of this, we want to gently remind you of something important: you are not alone. You are surrounded by a community of people who genuinely care, who want to support you, and who are walking alongside you. Your family, your friends, your colleagues, families at school drop off and pick up, and of course, God.

Taking action moves us forward

In our school community, we all face tasks or moments that feel a bit challenging. Whether it’s trying something new, tackling a project we’ve put off, or taking on a responsibility that stretches us. What makes these moments easier is the way we approach them together. When we take action, even on the small things we tend to avoid, we help create a culture where effort, courage, and participation are valued.

Students, staff, and families all play a part in this shared spirit. By encouraging one another, pitching in when needed, and celebrating small steps forward, we build a community where tricky things become more manageable. Not because they’re less challenging, but because we’re supporting each other along the way. In doing so, we strengthen not just our school, but the sense of belonging and purpose that helps every person thrive.

We’re in this together. We’re going to catch a big one… don’t be scared.
